PRESENTATION OF THE NEW PROJECT BY CARLOS MANERA, SAILER OF THE PORT DE LA SELVA YACHT CLUB.
Last Friday the 19th, we had the opportunity to learn more about the experience lived by Carlos Manera at the Mini Transat 2021, and his new project Mini Transat 2023.
The talk began with the gratitude of Carlos Manera for the support received at all times by the Nautical Club.
The documentary was then shown "Enjoying my dream", a compilation of the hard and enriching experience of crossing the Atlantic alone, lived and recounted by Carlos Manera; with hard moments, emotional moments, critical moments, quiet moments, moments of reflection, moments to enjoy nature, ...
The video awakened a lot of unknowns and curiosities among the attendees, which Carlos went on to explain in all kinds of detail. Topics like safety, sleep, food, how he handled the psychologically hardest days, the willpower to keep going and wanting to reach the finish line, etc.
In a second part, Carlos Manera presented his new project for the Mini Transat 2023.
After the enriching and formative experience he had during 2020/2021, Carlos, as an athlete, wanted to take a step further.
That is why he considered how to be able to compete more at the top, how to be able to fight to achieve better positions in this competition.
He did not hesitate, and with everything he had learned during these 2 years, he started this new Mini Transat 2023 project.
Manera explained to us the process of this new adventure, which began with the design of a new, different and more competitive boat, which is currently being built in Cartagena, at the Sinergia construction company, with its own hands
A custom-made boat with its sailing philosophy, the result of its own experiences over the past two years.
There is no doubt that Carlos is a competitive and enterprising young sailor, eager and excited to take on new challenges in the world of sailing, worthy of the admiration of all of us.
