19th Technical Days of the Ports of Catalonia

THE EVENT HAD TWO DAYS OF PAPERS WHICH THE MAIN ISSUES OF INTEREST IN THE NAUTICAL SECTOR WERE DISCUSSED.

The Catalan Association of Sports and Tourist Ports, Ports of Catalonia-ACPET, celebrated its XIX Technical and Work Days on May 18 and 19 in Blanes, with the Blanes Sailing Club as host. Two days of presentations where the main topics of interest in the nautical sector have been discussed.

The event brought together more than 200 people among representatives of the marinas in Catalonia, as well as other points in the State and the south of France. Representatives of nautical companies and the Administration were also present.

The opening ceremony was carried out by the president of Ports Catalunya-ACPET, Albert Bertran, the president of CV Blanes, Joan Balaguer, and the mayor of Blanes, Àngel Canosa i Fernández.

Thursday's day continued with the presentation "A safe sea with a jet ski", the presentation of the new WebApp of the Ports of Catalonia, and that of "Port experiences, how to manage a field of buoys". Environmental issues occupy a relevant position on the agenda of the Ports of Catalonia and were discussed in the presentation "Environmental Management in the Balearic Islands" by FANEMD and ANADE.

One of the most important events of Thursday's day was the round table on the "Present and Future of Recreational Nautical", which brought together for the first time the main representatives of the sector, in charge of the President of the Marines of Spain , Gabriel Martínez, the Head of the Legal and Institutional Area of ​​the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), Carlos Sanlorenzo, the President of Ports of Occitanie, Sergè Pallarès, the President of the Spanish Confederation of Associations of Nautical Clubs (CEACNA), Miquel Suñer, and as moderators the President of Ports Catalunya-ACPET, Albert Bertran and his Vice President, Raimon Roca.

The day closed with the presentation on the "37th America's Cup-Barcelona 2024" and a new environmental presentation under the title "ICÒMIA's vision on trends in the sector, decarbonisation alternatives and their impact on marinas".

In the evening, the traditional dinner of the Technical Days was held where different personalities who have worked to promote marinas and nautical were recognised, with the gold and silver pins of Ports de Catalunya-ACPET, such as the President of the Marines of Spain, Gabriel Martínez and the Head of the Legal and Institutional Area of ​​ANEN, Carlos Sanlorenzo, among others.

Friday's day began with the presentation "Legislative Updates and Compliance in Marinas" by Barcelona Lawyers. Followed by "Maritime Agenda of Catalonia" by Sergi Tudela, Director General of Maritime Policy and Sustainable Fishing, "Socio-Economic Impact of the Blue Economy on the Costa Brava", "The new challenges of port urban planning" and the last presentation "Responsible Tourism, towards a new more ethical and innovative tourism model" by Marta Domènech, Director General of Tourism of Catalonia.

The Friday meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director of Ports of the Generalitat, Esther Roca, the territorial manager of the South Port Zone of Ports of the Generalitat, Enric Martínez Sastre, the manager of the Center Zone, Esther Blanco and the North Zone, Joan Pere Darbra.

The closing ceremony was carried out by the Secretary of Mobility and Infrastructure and President of Ports of the Generalitat, Marc Sanglas, and the President of Ports of Catalonia-ACPET, Albert Bertran.

The Technical and Work Days ended with a lunch at the Restaurant Club Vela Blanes.
