New regulation on flats for tourist use

THE MAYOR OF PORT DE LA SELVA BELIEVES THAT THE NEW REGULATION ON TOURIST APARTMENTS WILL PUT THE MUNICIPALITY'S FUTURE AT RISK.

The Government regulates housing for tourist use in 262 municipalities with a system of prior planning permission.

The town councils of these 262 municipalities will have to modify their urban planning to expressly include the possibility of accommodating tourist flats, justifying that they have enough land for permanent housing and without exceeding 10 tourist flats per 100 inhabitants.

The mayor of Port de la Selva, Josep Maria Cervera, assures that they have almost no primary or industrial sector and that they live entirely from tourism, which is why he believes that this new regulation will put the future of the Municipality at risk.
