Citizen science conference

COLLABORATE WITH US ON THE MARINE BIODIVERSITY CENSUS DAY, AT PORT DE LA SELVA.

Activity organized by FECDAS (Catalan Federation of Underwater Activities), within the framework of the ANERIS project.

Diving trip with the Club's Diving Section, scheduled for Friday, June 16, with the aim of photographing marine species of the Mar d'Amunt (North of the Cap de Creus Natural Park), to upload them to the platform of citizen science MINKA.

ANERIS, an ambitious European project for the automatic monitoring of marine life.

The initiative, led by the ICM-CSIC (Institute of Marine Sciences), aims to deal with the rapid loss of ocean biodiversity, through the development of innovative tools and technologies, for monitoring, research and marine life management.

At the same time, he proposes to implement a new concept of Operational Marine Biology (OMB). A biodiversity information system that allows routine long-term measurements of ocean and coastal ecosystems and their rapid interpretation and dissemination to all relevant stakeholders.

The role of citizen science.

Citizen science will play a key role in the project. In this way, MINKA, one of the marine citizen observatories of the ICM-CSIC, will be used as a technological framework for the development of new participatory tools.
