Catalan Sailing Festival 2024: Aina Gelpí and Carlos Manera, best sailors of the year!

CARLOS MANERA, SAILOR OF THE PORT DE LA SELVA YACHTING CLUB, WINS THE BEST NAVIGATOR 2023 AWARD IN THE MALE CATEGORY.

The Catalan Sailing Federation brought together more than 400 attendees yesterday at the Catalan Sailing Festival 2024, which was held yesterday at the America's Cup Experience in Barcelona, ​​the official dissemination center for the America's Cup.

With the entertaining and funny conduct of the presenter Quim Masferrer, the Outsider, the event has awarded the sporting and social achievements of athletes, clubs and schools of Catalan sailing in the years 2022 and 2023, as well as the administrations and entities that have made it possible.

The highlights of the evening revolved around the best sailors of the year:

In the women's category, Aina Gelpí, GEN Roses sailor, hailed as Best Sailor of the Year for accumulating the titles of European and Spanish champion in the Hansa 303 class in 2023.

And Carlos Manera, sailor from Club Nàutic Port de la Selva, who has been proclaimed Best Sailor of the Year in the male category, thanks to such distinguished achievements as the runner-up in the Mini Transat 2023 and being the first Spaniard to win the first stage of this regatta.

Lluís Fraguell (President), Jordi Charles (Secretary) and Domènec Gómez (Director) attended the event on behalf of the Port de la Selva Yachting Club.
