"Caves and ports of the Costa Brava"

The first free tourist guide for sailors of the Costa Brava is published.

The new guide, Coves and ports of the Costa Brava, presents from north to south the eighteen nautical and marine clubs of the Costa Brava and a selection of the most emblematic coves of the Girona coast. In addition, it offers technical and assistance information for navigators and crews, as well as information on natural and tourist attractions to discover the destination.

The project was born from the collaboration between the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board, the Catalan Association of Sports and Tourist Ports (ACPET) and Ports de la Generalitat. The guide is added to the collection of free publications published by the organization for informative and promotional purposes.

"Caves and ports of the Costa Brava" it consists of 98 pages and presents from north to south the 18 nautical and marine clubs on the coast of Girona and a selection of its most emblematic coves.

In addition, it offers technical and assistance information for navigators and crews, as well as information on natural and tourist attractions to discover the destination.

The guide contains an introductory chapter dedicated to the Costa Brava as a tourist destination, with several sections of interest for the visitor relating to food and wine, culture, health and well-being, nautical and active tourism activities and music festivals.

Sustainable navigation

The publication includes a specific chapter dedicated to sustainable navigation to highlight the need to protect the marine environment.

This chapter, which collects information on responsible anchoring, rules for coexistence between boats and bathers and other good environmental practices, contains a series of icons that visually summarize the objectives of the 2030 Agenda that the 18 clubs are committed to achieving nautical in its commitment to sustainability.

Next, the Costa Brava is presented, from north to south, from the eyes of the navigator, a route of more than 200 kilometers of the coast that is segmented into three chapters: the northern area, from Portbou to l’Escala; the center, from Estartit to Palamós, and the southern area, from Platja d'Aro to Blanes.

Each section contains detailed information on the coves as well as the marinas.

Of the latter, a complete technical sheet is included accompanied by a photograph of the equipment, and a recommendation is also made of an attraction in the area that the visitor cannot miss.

The guide is illustrated with a large number of high-quality images, mostly newly produced, taken from sea to land, which reproduce the navigator's vision and facilitate the identification of the site.

Touristic places

Finally, there are sections dedicated to Dalí, the medieval towns, circuit paths and the Empúries site, and spaces and natural attractions such as the natural parks of Cap de Creus, the wetlands of Empordà, and Montgrí, the Medes Islands and Montgrí. the Baix Ter, the bay of Roses, the botanical gardens of Cap Roig or Santa Clotilde.

The guide is available in five languages ​​(Catalan, Spanish, English, French and German).
