The Port of la Selva

A Captivating Village

Port de la Selva is a small coastal fishing village, located on the northern slope of the Cap de Creus Natural Park. The town preserves its seafaring tradition, with white houses that contrast with the intense blue of the sea, which enters to form a splendid bay.

Its mountainous environment, eroded by the force of the sea and the wind, forms rocky structures, which shape an idyllic, rugged and virgin landscape. It is full of paths and trails, which allow you to enjoy excursions of great interest.

It has a great monumental and cultural wealth, inherited from the past. To highlight the Romanesque Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, the Church of Santa Elena, the Castle of Sant Salvador, from where there is an extraordinary view of the Empordà and Cap de Creus, the Hermitage of Sant Baldiri.

The beaches and the seabed

Its indented coast is full of hidden coves of great appeal, both for their crystalline waters and for the impressive cliffs that surround them.

The seabed is spectacularly beautiful. The low level of water pollution determines an extraordinary wealth of underwater life, both for the abundant variety of fish, and for its landscape full of forests of posidonia, gorgonians, anemones, sponges, red coral, etc. We can also find a large number of shipwrecks from all eras.
